Barcelona to Host Inaugural Fixture at Renovated Camp Nou over the weekend
Barça revealed their first game will take place at the still-under-construction Camp Nou this Saturday. They will welcome the Bilbao team in the Spanish league two and a half years since relocating so building work could begin.
“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Not all seats will be available though over 45,000 attendees are permitted inside as per the current authorization. When completed, the Camp Nou is due to hold close to 105,000 fans, up from the previous 99,000. Officials confirmed recent additions comprise a new players’ tunnel plus modern locker rooms.
Stadium Testing
Barcelona held an open training session at the Camp Nou in early November. Officials stated they are seeking authorization by UEFA to host the next European match facing Eintracht in December at the stadium. They have been hosting matches at the Olympic Stadium.
