The First Xbox Game Pass Additions of 2026 Demonstrate Xbox Is Still Fighting.
Everywhere you go, fans keep sounding the funeral bells for the green team. The platform was lately surpassed in sales by a relatively obscure console. Platform-specific outlets are now publishing content on PS5 topics unprecedentedly. 2025 was an era of significant turmoil for Xbox and Microsoft. But if we're going solely off the upcoming Game Pass lineup in 2026, it's evident that Xbox remains determined to draw people in with compelling titles on its key platform.
The Immediate Additions
The duo of games currently accessible as you read this, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, aren't the showstoppers. Instead, the excitement lies in what's arriving to Game Pass over the next few weeks that's deserving of attention.
Upcoming Headline Games
On Jan. 13, Game Pass will add the underrated Star Wars Outlaws, an open-world game that refreshes conventional open-world tropes with a space-faring criminal escapade. An additional significant inclusion is Resident Evil Village with its iconic tall vampire, hailed in past assessments as "the perfect cocktail of terror and combat."
Intriguing Niche Additions
But even the smaller games coming to Game Pass soon deserve recognition. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, an unjustly ignored roguelite offering thrilling gameplay, arrives January 7th — and it's worth experiencing regardless of whether you played the first Lost in Random game.
This UK-developed survival title from last year could captivate you in about 15 minutes flat.
Atomfall, the stealth survival game by the makers of Sniper Elite, is another one to watch. Those with the top-tier subscription also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to look forward to.
A Robust Selection of Games
In summary, this isn't a revolutionary update to Game Pass, and they are also not massive exclusive blockbusters that validate the subscription alone. But Microsoft's additions here are exceptionally strong. It offers a healthy blend of older titles you may have skipped and new-ish games that didn't get the attention they warranted upon launch — which makes them perfect candidates to experience a revival on Game Pass.
You might need to brace yourself to part ways with The Grinch Christmas Adventures, though.
