Top-ranked Sabalenka Claims Back-to-Back WTA Top Player Honors.

Aryna Sabalenka in action
Aryna Sabalenka finished the season with an notable twenty-three to three Grand Slam match record.

The top-ranked player Aryna Sabalenka has been chosen the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second consecutive season.

The 27-year-old secured four titles – the most on tour – which included retaining the US Open in September against Amanda Anisimova to earn her fourth career Grand Slam singles title.

A Season of Dominance

Across the season, Sabalenka reached a tour-best nine championship matches, with defeats coming against Madison Keys in the Australian Open final at the start of the year and Coco Gauff in the French Open final.

The star player also triumphed at the Brisbane International early in the season, the Miami Open during the spring, and the Madrid Open as the clay season progressed. She remained the entire year as the world number one, ending 2025 atop the rankings for a second successive year.

This past summer, she became the first player to top 12,000 WTA ranking points since Serena Williams did so nearly a decade ago.

Historic Statistics

Sabalenka concluded the competitive year with a sixty-three to twelve match record, and earned a record £11m in prize money.

She garnered nearly 80% of the votes cast by international tennis media.

On 28 December, she is poised to compete against 2022 Wimbledon runner-up Nick Kyrgios in a high-profile mixed-gender exhibition match in a bid to "elevate women's tennis to a greater prominence".
